What type of yoga do you teach?

Having taught Ashtanga yoga for many years, my teaching is influenced by this form of yoga. In class we work through sequences of postures which are linked by flowing movements synchronised with the breath. The emphasis is on linking the breath to the movements of the body and through this 'moving meditation' achieving a deep sense of relaxation, rejuvenation and wellbeing.

Am I too fat/thin/tall/small/old/young/unfit/inflexible?

Yoga is adaptable, it can be modified to suit every person's body type.

Do I have to book for the classes?

The Tuesday (5.45- 7.15pm and 7.30-9pm), Wednesday (7.30-9pm) and Thursday night (7.30-9pm) classes need to be booked in advance. The Wednesday 5.45-7.15pm class is run as a ‘drop-in’. A student may just turn up on the day and join in.

What do I wear?

Wear something you feel comfortable moving in. In the winter wear layers. As you warm up during the practice you may want to shed some of them and then put them back on for the relaxation.

Do I need to bring a mat?

No, you can borrow a mat. If you then decide that you want to continue with yoga you may like to buy one of your own. Please speak to Sarah if you would like to buy one.
